damn... guess i will get just a credit (60-69%) out of the paper that I've submitted ytd..
for all the efforts, the reference list went somewhat wrong... no indentation after my second lines... and i exceeded the number of www references (requirement is one-third of the total references) i mistaken 3 gov. publications on the web not to be www. had 6 books, 2 web and 3 gov publications from the web. Though it exceeded the minimum requirements of references, i guess it wasnt wat they expected. thats my first individual assignment with chicago referencing anyway.... hope to do a better assignment for the marketing module. =/
MARKING GUIDELINE FOR ASSIGNMENT I [INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS REPORT] – MANAGEMENT 100
Please note: Report writing skills are not being assessed, therefore the format does not affect the mark allocation, however the assessment has to be clearly presented.
As a bare minimum to achieve a passing grade students must satisfy the following:
Information literacy skills - Use the information to build an argument, students need to state their business needs and what the foreign location (external environment) has to offer. Students should avoid giving a summary of external environment, without showing relevance of the information to their organisation.
Referencing – Students need to use both in-text referencing and build a reference list. Students who do not use in-text referencing and/or build a reference list, using 6 sources of reference will receive a fail mark.
Pass (P) - A score in the range of 50-59 will be awarded.
· Demonstrate ability to reference using Chicago referencing.
· Show 6 sources of reference, both in-text referencing as well as reference list – does not have to be perfect.
· Draw a valid conclusion/recommendation based on the information the student has found.
Credit (C) - A score in the range of 60-69 will be awarded.
· In addition to the requirements for a pass, students present a well formulated and referenced argument.
· Applied understanding of the issues.
Distinction (D) - A score in the range of 70-79 will be awarded.
· The student has gone beyond the obvious and demonstrated originality and initiative
· Show evidence of further readings beyond the minimum requirements of 6 sources of reference.
· Chicago referencing is correct.
High Distinction (HD) - A score in the range of 80-100 will be awarded.
· Correct Chicago referencing.
· Demonstrate subtle and critical insight as well as mature understanding of the issues.
· Report clearly and concisely demonstrates that the student presents a logical argument that leads to an ensuing recommendation.
· Considerable additional work in wider areas relevant to the assessment has been done.
· Students who have exceeded 1750 words (1500 + 10% allowance) should not be awarded a high distinction.
